2001
Liberty Military Housing, formally known as Lincoln Military Housing, was formed on August 1, 2001, through a Department of Defense (DoD) contract with parent company Lincoln Property Company (LPC).

Shortly after opening our doors on August 1, 2001, we hosted our first resident event, marking the beginning of a long-standing commitment to building connection, support, and belonging for military families. Today, that commitment continues to thrive, by 2026, we have hosted more than 16,900 resident events, creating opportunities for families to connect, engage, and build lasting memories within our communities.

Our first groundbreaking for The Village at NTC.
2003
Powering growth at MCB Camp Pendleton, 3,300+ homes onboarded.
Our portfolio expanded to include an additional 1,414 homes at MCB Quantico.
April, 2003
The Liberty At Your Service Maintenance Call Center was established.
2004
August, 2004
We marked the opening of Thomason Park at MCB Quantico with a ribbon cutting ceremony.
October, 2004
Liberty Military Housing’s grew its portfolio to include 821 homes at MCAS Yuma.
We expanded our footprint with the addition of 76 homes at San Mateo Point.
2005
July, 2005
We unveiled Gateway Village in San Diego, California with a celebratory ribbon cutting ceremony.
September, 2005
We marked a major expansion, adding 1,500 additional homes at MCAGCC Twentynine Palms and 234 more at MOBCOM.
We celebrated a major milestone with a ribbon cutting at The Village at Whitehurst Farm, delivering its first Mid-Atlantic Navy/Marines design-build homes to the portfolio.
December, 2005
Continuing its momentum, we expanded into the Mid-Atlantic Military Family Communities in August 2005, adding 5,300 homes to its growing portfolio.
2006
May, 2006
San Diego Phase III launched, adding seven Chollas Historic Homes and fueling the continued evolution of Liberty Military Housing’s thriving communities.

Marked a major milestone as we celebrated our 5th Anniversary, honoring five years of expanding communities and serving military families nationwide.
September, 2006
We surged forward at MCB Camp Pendleton expanding the community to an impressive 6,800 homes and solidifying its presence at one of its largest installations.
2007
As our portfolio continued to grow, in September 2007, 144 homes were added in MCLB Albany, GA, extending support to more service members and their families.
2009
Building more than homes, we unveiled Heroes Manor, and Heroes Elementary School at MCB Camp Lejeune. This new growth added an additional 560 new homes to Liberty’s portfolio.

A milestone moment as we opened our first clubhouse at NAS Lemoore, bringing community to life.
2010
We expanded to our Nation’s Capital in 2010. As Joint base Anacostia-Bolling (DC Flag Housing) joins the portfolio, marking a strategic presence in Washington, DC.
2011
On August 1, 2011, Liberty Military Housing reached another major milestone, commemorating a decade of expanding communities and serving those who serve.
2012
Former First Lady of Virginia Maureen McDonnell presented the FLITE Opportunity Hall of Fame Award (Military Family Support Category). This honor recognized the community services and military housing support initiatives led by Lincoln Military Housing (which rebranded as Liberty Military Housing).

We advanced our sustainability efforts with rooftop solar installations across San Diego communities, delivering millions of kilowatt-hours of clean, renewable energy to military families.
2016

Growth surged at Joint Base Lewis-McChord as more than 5,000 homes are added, expanding Liberty Military Housing’s footprint and deepening our commitment to military families in the Pacific Northwest.

A national spotlight shines on Heroes Manor at MCB Camp Lejeune, earning the National Apartment Associations Community of the Year award in the Military category in June 2019.
2020
Seaside Village earned national recognition as the National Apartment Association’s Community of the Year in the Military category, highlighting excellence in resident experience and service.

We proudly celebrated the ribbon cutting of Sierra View at MCAS Yuma, marking the addition of 60 new homes to the installation’s growing community. More than just new residences, Sierra View was thoughtfully designed to deliver a complete lifestyle experience for military families, with two sparkling pools, 22 playgrounds, dog parks, basketball courts, a clubhouse, and a fully equipped fitness center. This milestone reflects our continued commitment to creating vibrant, connected communities where service members and their families can truly thrive.
2024
In May 2024 we invested in our people, opening our first Liberty Learning Academy. The 2,000 sq. ft. training center delivers in-person development opportunities to more than 170 employee-owners across the Mid-Atlantic.
2025
The Liberty Learning Academy at Joint Base Lewis-McChord opened on June 3, 2025. This hands-on training facility is the second in Liberty Military Housing’s portfolio.

We opened our third Liberty Learning Academy at NAS Patuxent River, illustrating our commitment to offering employee-owners' opportunities that will help them grow and thrive in their careers.

Continuing our commitment to exceptional community living, we celebrated the groundbreaking of Meriwether Landing at Joint Base Lewis-McChord. This new neighborhood will add 212 homes for military families, featuring modern four-bedroom layouts and two new parks, with the first homes expected to be move-in ready in early 2026.

We announced the opening of Mariner’s Row, a newly developed neighborhood for military families stationed at Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek-Fort Story. Featuring 64 newly constructed townhomes, Mariner’s Row marks a significant milestone in Liberty’s $150 million Mid-Atlantic reinvestment initiative, delivering modern homes and enhancing the quality of life for service members and their families.
